Riverboat GamblingMississippi is in the heart of the south and the perfect vacation destination for visitors of all ages, especially, for northerners who want some sunshine in the winter and early spring months. For families, there are water parks and great beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, and for adults, who enjoy recreational gaming; Mississippi has a lot of luxury waterfront casinos. Additionally, there are some very challenging golfing opportunities throughout Mississippi, including golf at the Mississippi state parks. Mississippi has a great climate for golfing. There are antique and craft museums for vacationers who want to learn about the culture of the “Deep South.” Families enjoy exploring the Mississippi Museum of Natural History, a replica of a cotton gin, and the Jackson Zoological Park. Following the Natchez Trace to Tennessee is a great road trip for auto-tourists as well as an adventure through history where visitors can dine at elegant mansions on former plantations. The Native American culture of Mississippi is celebrated at the Choctaw Indian Fair.

Natural BeautyMississippi visitors, who prefer water travel, can journey along the Gulf Coast through the Intercoastal Waterway from Texas and Louisiana to Alabama, Florida, and the eastern Atlantic coast. Other visitors, who are drawn to the Mississippi River, can participate in the Bluz Cruz Canoe and Kayak Marathon, a 22-mile race along the Mississippi River near Vicksburg.
