Indianapolis CourthouseIndiana, the Hoosier State, is known for its spectacular high school basketball teams and rich farmlands. In its industrial north, Indiana touches Lake Michigan where it has casinos that are popular destinations for gaming aficionados from throughout the country. Shipshewana, which is in northern Indiana, is highlighted by the newly-completed Amish visitor center, Menno Hof, the community attracts more than a million visitors each year. 

Nappanee Indiana is the center of one of the largest Amish settlements in the United States. Visit the 80-acre historic Amish farm, and country market with more than 450 booths, featuring Amish quilts, arts, crafts, furniture and baked goods. Visitors may enjoy seeing one of the seasonal performances offered May through October at the magnificent Round Barn Theatre.

Travelers through Indiana will notice that the landscape changes from lush farmlands to rolling hills as they drive south toward the Ohio River and the capital city of Indianapolis, home of the famous Indianapolis 500 ,the Indianapolis Colts football team, and the Indiana Pacers basketball team. Indianapolis is also host to the NASCAR Brickyard 400. Indianapolis is a very pleasant city to visit with its tree-lined streets, museums, and fine dining.

Museum of IndianapolisHistory buffs, who remember the old campaign slogan for John Tyler, "Tippee Canoe and Tyler, Too," can visit the Tippecanoe Battlefield and Museum located in Battle Ground, Indiana.

Bloomington Indiana, home of Indiana University, is another important city to visit with its elegant amenities in the relaxing atmosphere of a college town. Golfing, bicycling, and hiking are popular sports around Bloomington and the Brown County area.

Boaters like to go to the Ohio River and adventure along the Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois River banks visiting the dockside restaurants and parks.
