Flying from the mainland to Hawaii, the Aloha State, is like a journey into Paradise where the weather is always perfect and the island ambiance welcomes all visitors. Many visitors get no farther than Honolulu and Oahu, as a vacation destination, with its luxury oceanfront hotels, five-start restaurants, shopping, and memorial to World War II, USS Arizona Memorial Pearl Harbor. Oahu offers surfing, sailing, deep-sea diving, swimming, and hiking. Eco-tourists and photo-vacationers like the diverse flora, interesting fauna, and spectacular views, including watching the sunset from a sandy beach. Harbor cruises and extended ocean cruises for whale watching add interest to anyone's vacation. Oahu has national, state parks, and cultural centers interpreting the Hawaiian culture, its dancing, music, language, and food. All visitors to Hawaii whether they stay on Oahu or go to the other islands sample fresh pineapple, Hawaii's main crop, an interest of agri-tourists. Its climate is perfect for birds of paradise and orchids. Many visitors rent automobiles to take day trips around Oahu.
Too learn more about Hawaii and enjoy its culture and splendor tourists need to travel to the other islands: Hawaii (the Big Island), Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and Kauai. Most visitors take island-hopper airlines or boats between the islands, but some adventurers find the canoeing in outriggers an invigorating mode of travel. Visitors to Hawaii, the Big Island, enjoy the Hawaii Valcanoes National Park to view its craters and lava flows, but there are other national and state monuments, parks, and historic sites, including Captain Cook's Monument, trails for hiking, winding roads for biking, and beaches for water lovers. Maui has Haleakala National Park with a beautiful overlook along with exquisite hotels, resorts, and condominiums. Romantic Maui is a wedding and honeymoon destination. Lanai, Molokai, and Kauai also have beautiful beaches, state parks, and places for birding, beach combing, hiking, backpacking, biking, sailing, and taking pictures. Rental cars also are available for traveling around the islands.
